SMART (Substitutable Medical Apps, Reusable Technologies) is one of four= Strategic Health IT Advanced Research Projects (SHARP) funded by the Offic= e of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.  SMAR= T was conceived to address the real-world need for responsiveness and innov= ation in health information technology by empowering existing electronic me= dical records (EMRs) and personally controlled health records (PCHRs) to ac= cept substitutable apps. There has already been some work done to have Open= MRS work as a container for SMART Apps by implementing a javascript API tha= t SMART apps expect and providing data back to SMART apps using RDF.
