Implementation Background

The Rwandan MoH and PIH/IMB are collaborating to develop a set of OpenMRS tools designed to model the services provided in a Rwandan health center.  The initial software development specifications are referred to as the RHEIN package, or phase I.  This is funded through a grant to Trac Plus from the IDRC, and then through a subcontract between Trac and PIH/IMB.  PIH/IMB has also received support from the Rockefeller Foundation to support the Rwandan MoH in building onto the basic RHEIN package to encompass more sophisticated elements of the system such as integration with national systems, integration with lab and pharmacy systems, and refinement of clinical tools and reporting.  As of writing, the RHEIN package is 85% complete, and rollout has started.

  1. Hi, There is so much great work that is happening and Is it possible to get the build with all these modules included in them? What would it take to run RHEIN elsewhere?

    1. Hi Haraneesh,

You can get the builds for those module by checking out the source code from their corresponding repositories (svn.openmrs.org or http://41.74.170.35/svn/modules) and build the projects in your workspace. As you'll see, a lot of those modules are customised for Rwanda, but, some are generic (especialy those from svn.openmrs.org) and can be used in other places as well.
