Abstract

The primary objective of this project is to create a OpenMRS mobile client with the capability of serving its own backend on the same mobile device (So ultimately the mobile client wont need to rely on external servers to contact OpenMRS base system)

Use case: "OpenMRS OTG" for small mobile private practitioners. https://talk.openmrs.org/t/openmrs-for-small-mobile-private-practices/3394

Project Champions

Objectives

Focus on getting this run on Android platform since the devices are quite cheaper.
Research the possibility of having 'iJetty' as the application server to host the WAR.
Research the possibility of using 'sqLite' to serve as the database server.

Extra Credit

Package as a single installation (APK?) without having the user to mess with configs.

  3. I'm glad you guys Man Parvesh Singh Randhawa and Arpit Gogia are interested in working on the development of this project.  I have data analytics and project management experience and am fully prepared to contribute to this project.

Unfortunately I'm new to OpenMRS (and opensource communities) so I'm not sure what needs to be done to this project going.  Harsha Siriwardena could you give us some guidance on how to proceed?
