Meeting Minutes

2011 OpenMRS Conferences

  • Paul: Change the nature of how the leadership group relates to these meetings
    • Make it a collaborative relationship
    • Encourage local capacity and ownership, OpenMRS is the facilitator of those needs
  • Important piece is to engage organizations throughout West Africa
  • Second meeting
    • Thoughts around having this in Southeast Asia
    • Activity in the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan
      • High demand of OpenMRS in these countries with both successful development and implementation

Nonprofit Updates

  • Finalizing confirmation of supported organizations
    • After confirmation, Articles of Incorporation can be filed with the State of Indiana since each organization
      • Filing the Articles allows us to transfer properties from the LLC to the new entity
  • Board of Directors and Bylaws
    • Finalize these at the Boston OpenMRS leadership meeting

Columbia Training

  • Darius provided training over Skype
    • 10 hours of training for 2 hours per day via Skype screen sharing
    • The group requested more training and submitted a proposal to Darius
  • Next Steps
    • Development and Training
      • Important consideration is to make sure OpenMRS is not competing with organizations we support
      • Organizations outside OpenMRS can provide training
    • This is something to continue to discuss and use this experience as a reference/pilot
    • Other considerations:
      • Evaluation forms - Dawn can create these
        • Consideration: language barriers
