OpenMRS Meetings for 2011

• Reviewed notes/ideas from group discussion amongst Darius, Chris S., Ben, and Dawn in regard to OpenMRS meetings for 2011
  • Two meeting types: 1)Focus on setting the Road Map and 2) Focus on introducing individuals to OpenMRS community and system
  • Location: several factors go into this (cost, major airports in the city/area, hotel costs, someone who can organize locally, etc.)
    • One idea is to pair a meeting with another conference (ie. many individuals came to the 2010 Implementers Meeting in Cape Town and were able to join Medinfo due to time and geographical closeness)
    • There's great support and development of the OpenMRS community in Africa and Asia as well. We will need to look for pairings and local support in both
      • Possible 2011 conference pairings include: 1) HELINA 2011, 2) Innovations in Healthcare Management and Informatics 2011, 3) International Conference on ICT in Africa 2011, 4) IST-Africa 2011
• Dawn will contact individuals in the OpenMRS community for local support in these areas
